TV Information
We do not have cable service, but there is a Roku streaming device plugged into the television set. The Roku is set up for “Guest” mode to provide an easy way for you to use your streaming subscriptions.
Turn the TV on using the Roku remote. You will be prompted to select your checkout date to ensure your streaming subscriptions will sign out automatically at the end of your stay.
All remotes are located in the wooden box, next to the television set. The television and Roku are controlled with the Roku remote; the Sony remote controls the DVD player.
To turn TV and Roku on and off:
Press the red power button located at the top of the Roku remote. The Roku remote can control the tv power and volume.
To use the DVD player:
After the television is on, use the black “RCA” remote and press the “INPUT” button on the remote and change it to “AV”. This will set the television to the correct mode to view the DVD player. Now, use Sony remote to control the DVD player. To return to standard viewing press the “INPUT” button on the RCA remote and select “TV”.
Bathroom Facilities
Allegan Gardens was built in 1910 and is on a septic system. Disposal of anything other than toilet paper provided may cause plumbing issues. Please DO NOT FLUSH anything other than the toilet paper provided. No feminine or baby products may be flushed at anytime.
Trash Service
All trash should be disposed of in the large trash bins, located outside. We ask that you place all trash in the container by Sunday night and take the trash container out to the curb Sunday evening for trash removal on Monday.
Swimming Pool
The swimming pool is serviced once a week by a professional pool service. They typically come on a Tuesday or Wednesday during the day to vacuum and treat the pool.
General Rules
Smoking is NOT allowed inside of the house and ONLY allowed outside. Cigarette butts must be disposed of in ashtrays provided. Additional cleaning fees will be assessed for butts found on the property.
People other than those in the Guest party set forth in the Rental Agreement may not stay overnight in the property. Any other person in the property is the sole responsibility of Guest.
All of the units are privately owned; the owners are not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises or its facilities. The Homeowners are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premise.
Keep the property and all furnishings in good order and in the same location as when you arrived. Additional fees will be assessed for damaged property, furnishings, etc. You may move furniture during your stay but please return it to its original place, otherwise, additional fees may be assessed.
Only use appliances for their intended uses.
PETS - Pets are permitted only with prior approval and the Pet Addendum must be completed.
PARKING – Parking is limited to 8 vehicle(s). Vehicles are to be parked in designated parking areas only. Parking on the road is not permitted. Any illegally parked cars are subject to towing; applicable fines/towing fees are the sole responsibility of the vehicle owner. Boats and other recreational vehicles may be parked on the premises in designated parking areas.
HOUSEKEEPING - There is no daily housekeeping service. While linens and bath towels are included in the unit, daily maid service is not available. We suggest you bring beach towels. We do not permit towels or linens to be taken from the units. Washer and Dryer are available in our cellar for your use during your stay.
POOL - When using the pool, remember there is a certain health risk associated with any swimming facility. Use at your own risk. The pool will be professionally cleaned and treated once a week.. There will be no service throughout the week to service or clean the pool. Proper pool equipment is on site to skim the pool. Below are the Pool rules, that must be followed:
Absolutely NO DIVING in the pool at any time, for any reason.
No lifeguard on duty. Swim at your own risk.
Children are allowed to swim or play in the pool only when adults are present. Please maintain constant supervision over children.
No pets in the pool.
Walk slowly in the pool area. No roughhousing, dunking, pushing, or wrestling.
Keep the area clear of clutter, debris and toys. Toys can often attract young children to the pool.
No swimming in rainy weather, when lightning or in thunderstorms.
No eating, drinking or chewing gum while in the pool.
No glass near the pool/water area.
Keep gates to the pool area closed at all times.FIREPLACE - The fireplace is a non-working fireplace and is not to be used for any reason. Candles are not to be burned.
WATER AND SEPTIC - The home is on a well and septic systems. The mineral content in the water is high. During a drought, the well water may have an odor. There is a water cooler on site for renters use at no charge. The septic system is very effective; however, improper material may cause plumbing issues. DO NOT FLUSH anything other than toilet paper provided. No feminine or baby products may be flushed at anytime. If it is found that any material other than toilet paper provided has been flushed, causing plumbing issues, an additional fee will be assessed.
STORMS/INCLIMATE WEATHER - No refunds will be given for storms or inclement weather. Roads can be curvy and steep. Gravel drives are well maintained; however, we highly recommend four wheel drive and/or chains during the snow months. We do not refund due to road conditions.
